Terms of Service
These terms cover your purchase and use of Amanu, the macOS dictation app. By buying or using it, you agree to them.
Last updated 2 July 2026.
Who we are
Amanu (“Amanu”, “we”, “us”) is a macOS application operated by Daniel Rodriguez. Purchases are sold and fulfilled through Paddle, which acts as our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle’s own buyer terms also apply to the transaction itself.
Your license
When you buy Amanu, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on the Macs you personally own or control. Amanu is a one-time purchase, not a subscription: you pay once and the license does not expire.
What you may not do
- Resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the app or your license.
- Share your license file or key with other people, or use it on machines that are not yours.
- Circumvent, disable, or tamper with the app’s licensing, or attempt to generate licenses yourself.
- Reverse engineer the app except to the limited extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction.
We reserve the right to treat a license that is shared or distributed in violation of these terms as invalid.
Free trial
Amanu includes a 14-day free trial so you can evaluate it before buying. When the trial ends, a valid license is required to keep using the app.
Payment and taxes
Prices are shown in US dollars unless stated otherwise. Paddle collects payment and remits any applicable sales tax or VAT as the Merchant of Record. Your receipt comes from Paddle.
Refunds
Purchases are covered by our refund policy. Please read it for the terms and how to request a refund.
Updates and availability
We may release updates, which the app can install for you. Updates are provided under these same terms. We aim to keep Amanu working and available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Disclaimer of warranties
Amanu is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use Amanu. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The state and federal courts located in California will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms; the current version is always the one on this page.
